Clyne Gardens and Clyne in Bloom Japenese and Italian bridges, historic castle, romantic tower, 2,000 varieties of plants – yes you’re still in Swansea! In fact you can stumble across these fascinating features all in one place – the fabulous Clyne Gardens. The gardens are truly spectacular all year round with its busy birdlife and oak woodland, a remnant of a medieval forest. Pop down to Clyne Gardens during May and experience the gardens at their most beautiful and admire the award-winning Rhododendrons and Azaleas. Clyne will also play host to a number of exciting events for you and your family to enjoy. Take a guided tour or learn about the wonderful variety of birds and wildlife which inhabit the gardens. Relax and take in the sounds of Swansea’s finest bands or let your children get creative at the art workshops and take in an exciting story under the branches of the Magical Story Tree. Swansea Prom There is plenty of family fun to be had outdoors along Swansea Prom from May. Enjoy a leisurely ride aboard the Swan and Dragon pedalos around Singleton Boating Lake, followed by a fun round of Crazy Golf. For those who prefer ‘pitch and putt’, Ashleigh Road’s 10-hole golf course is only a short distance away. The course is ideal for both beginners and experts with no handicap required. Stroll further down the Prom and take a dip in Swansea’s very own outdoor shallow waterpark, Blackpill Lido. Blackpill Lido is a must visit with its superb paddling pool and unique interactive water features, fantastic children’s play area and climbing rock. Swansea Bowls Festival at Victoria Gardens Swansea’s prestigious Bowls Festival is once again being held this Summer in Victoria Park. Anyone can take part and be in with the chance of winning some fabulous cash prizes and becoming Swansea Bowls Champion 2008. Spectators are also welcome to come down and show their support. The festival is now in its 42nd year and is a major hit on South Wales bowls scene.
