Back to the 80's Concert and Race Meeting! Join us on the evening of the 12th August for our Back to the 80's race night which promises to take you back to the days of big shoulder pads, leg warmers and the Rubik's cube! Join us for a fantastic evening of racing between 5.45pm and 8.30pm followed by a live concert from the ORIGINAL STARS of the 80's! Our special guests for the night are Rick Astley, ABC and Heaven 17.
THESE ARE NOT TRIBUTE BANDS....THESE ARE THE REAL THING!
Rick Astley will be headlining the stage. His record "Never Gonna Give you Up" shot to Number 1 in 1987 and remained there for 5 weeks. It was Britain's largest selling single of that year!
In support will be Heaven 17, rolling back the years with their memorable record "Temptation", which reached Number 2 in the UK chart in 1983. ABC will be pumping out some of their top 10 charting tunes such as "Poison Arrow" and "The Look of Love". |

August Pontardawe will be having it's Summerfest. Friday evening there will be music outside and inside the arts centre in Herbert Street with a procession at 9.20 PM. Saturday there will be dancing displays (eg Clog, Morris, Appalachian, Scorttish etc) throughout the day as well as live music and a procession at 1.30 am. In the evening there is a Ceilidh with The Bear Band, (Jubilee Club), Welsh Music & song outside the Arts Centre, Salsa dancing inside the Arts Centre and a free Fire & Circus skills display by No Fit State. Light up the Night Twilight Sponsored Walk, Join us for this sponsored walk where you will follow a candlelit trail through the woodlands and ornamental gardens at Dyffryn. There will be various entertainment along the route as well as time for quiet reflection and a chance to see the wonderful lighting displays.
